A second picture from Michaela’s confirmation. This time Michaela has received the confirmation certificate and a memento from Archbishop Emeritus Paul Cremona and is taking a commemorative photo with him. For this shot and others the photographer chose my side to take his pictures.
Yesterday I said that photography was not allowed in church and I agree. The reason for this is that now that everybody has a digital camera which is very easy to use, people forget the solemnity of the occasion in their attempts to capture every movement of their children. As for me, I stood away from it all and took my shots while I disturbed nobody (no flash, of course) and I also managed to take part in the celebration from my vantage point.
Joke: A priest was walking around observing his Sunday class children while they were drawing pictures. As he got to one girl who was working diligently, he asked what the drawing was.
The girl replied, "I'm drawing God."
The priest paused and said, "But no one knows what God looks like."
Without looking up from her drawing, the girl replied, "They will in a minute."
Many thanks for looking and for all the nice comments on yesterday's picture.
A lovely memory for Michaela Dione.
