There are many former windmills around Malta but as far as I know this is the only windmill in Malta that still has all its mechanism intact although it has taken some restoration. I came by it by chance, although I knew of its existence. It is at the boundary between Żurrieq and Safi. There is another one which has been fully restored in Gozo which has been turned into a museum.
Some days ago I gave JP (Jean-Pierre) and Louise a lift to Luqa airport and took the camera, aiming to stop and take some shots in that area. In the end I drove around and stopped at this lovely village of Safi – a paradise for those who look for tranquillity. I had never in my life ever been to that place, so I found a good parking spot for the car and went for a stroll around this village when suddenly I came face to face with the windmill.
Thank you so much for looking and for the lovely comments and fav's on yesterday's picture.
