At this time of the year (2016) the Maltese are stuck around their tv’s watching the Euro 2016 matches. Every bar/restaurant has its own big screen to attract – or not to lose - customers. Our national side has never made it to this stage and everyone is resigned that we never will. But most of us take pleasure in siding with the teams of other nations. Soccer lovers, and even those who don’t follow football, may be divided (in my opinion) as 35% for the Italians, another 35% for England, 15% for Germany and the other 8% for Spain and out of the rest – a few side for France and then Brazil and other South American countries.
I, for one, like to watch the matches at home, and on my own because I hate being distracted by people around me. I don’t have a particular preference but favour the Italian and Spanish styles.
These flags are at Għar id-Dud, Sliema, near an open-air restaurant.
Many thanks for looking and for commenting and fav's on my project.
@beryl That's a fav...great tournament...good to see the Welsh dragon too, Beryl - they have done brilliantly :) I watch at home too, less distracting, I agree, Dione.
Enjoy the soccer game on the telly, hoping your team come in...
