Three days ago I posted a picture which I took last Saturday about the sudden dense fog that rolled in from the sea and brought visibility to a few metres. That was freak weather for us in Summer when we only get sunshine and warmth. Two/three days previously we had slight showers in the night.
Yesterday was another freak day. Throughout, Autumn, Winter and Spring we had record after record for the lack of rain we had. Yesterday, afternoon we had a thunderstorm with rain coming down in bucketfuls. Took this shot through a closed window when the rain was just starting to pour down.
And lucky me: I had been procrastinating day after day to see the level of water in my water well as low as possible before ordering a bowserful of water to fill it up. The well can take around 3100 gallons of water. The day before yesterday, I couldn’t wait any longer and ordered the water. And when was it delivered? Yesterday, just before the rain had just started to fall, followed by a drenching rain which lasted some three hours. I lost most of the water as the well couldn’t take it.
Thank you so much for looking and for your comments and fav's on yesterday's picture.
Yes Dione we can relate to the experience we are on tank and use dam water for the garden which both supplies of water were low 2 weeks back but thankfully have had good rain since. Lovely shot.
wonderful rainy day capture. So you mean we might just have the same rain here. It's the middle of winter our rainy season, and not much rain yet. We could do with a good 3 hour rain soon
sorry about the fact that it rained just after you filled your well
We've freaky weather here too, yesterday was lots of thunder & lightning--two people were hit & died right at the beach-I didn't see but heard bout it in the news--& today's super humid!!!- btw, love the motion on the shot & enjoy ur over-flowing blessings:)
I think the whole world is having freaky weather lately. All you have to do is listen to the news. Too bad, you're timing was off. It sounds like my kind of luck.
How annoying with the water delivery though.
