Friday, 10th February – the first day of our weekend in Gozo – was a public holiday : the feast of St Paul’s Shipwreck (on Maltese land). We went to mass at St George’s Basilica in Rabat. The Basilica is situated in the old part of Rabat and is surrounded by a labyrinth of narrow streets. This is one of them. Note the niche with the Holy Virgin at the street corner.
