We visited St Michael's Cave in Gibraltar. A beautiful wonder of nature and of human effort to make it even more amazing my means of some great lighting.
St Michael’s Cave was long believed to be bottomless. This probably gave birth to the story that the Rock of Gibraltar was linked to the Continent of Africa by a subterranean passage over 15 miles (24km) long under the Strait of Gibraltar. The famous Rock Apes were said to have come to Gibraltar through this under-sea passage.
Thank you so much for looking and for the comments on yesterday’s picture.
I love a cave! Stalactites and stalagmites are some of the most fascinating things to look at. Hidden away in their subterranean world, slowly growing with the help of the water into something amazing.
