BULLRING by sangwann

BULLRING

Have you ever been in a bullring? This was my first time and I was very excited to be in there even though I am completely against cruelty to animals. I have read a few interesting books about the subject and the ritual and would jump at the occasion to go watch at least one event.
Back to our Andalusia Easter holiday. This shot was taken at Rondha on Easter Sunday. Actually it is a merge of 3/4 shots.
Many thanks for looking and for all the comments on yesterday's picture
Looks very neat. Is it really old?? Do they still use it for bull fighting?

It looks like a very big arena. Looks old too.

Hopefully no bulls around :)

@littleconnie @777margo This bullring is still in use but does not host as many bullfights as other, larger venues. In 1994, US singer Madonna shot her music video, Take A Bow, in the bullfight arena,. Madonna's co-star in the video was Spanish bullfighter Emilio Muñoz. In 2001, the bullring was the location of the final quiz and execution in the first season of the U.S. reality TV show The Mole.

The lines and arches of the stadium makes it an impressive photo.

I've been trying to catch up today and have been looking at your recent pictures. There are some lovely ones there. Especially like the St Michaels cave one.

Looks very interesting, you have caught the size of the ring nicely. I watched a programme on the subject a week or two ago, and although it would be quite a spectacle I wouldn't be able to stomach the cruelty of the game.

Boy that looks historic! That sport if you can call it sport has been around for centuries!

Beautiful building, even if I don't believe in killing animal for fun.

A great panoramic fav. shot of the arena. No ,and I`m with you abouth bull fights. So I won`t watch it.
But when I watch Nat, Geographic wild lifes series I think nature is cruel too. No mercy for the weak.

@sangwann It do to me. But it need more to explain than I can do on 365.

I like the wide angle of this shot. I did go one time, many years ago in Mexico. I found it very disturbing. The killing was upsetting as expected, but I was very surprised and saddened by how long the animal was stabbed and weakened before the end. I had expected to see more of a "fair fight," I guess.
