CENTIPEDE by sangwann

CENTIPEDE

I liked this picture and I had to kneel down to take it. This is again at the procession of Easter Sunday in Rhonda, Andalusia.
You may ask "What is this". These are a good number of children under the statue of the Risen Christ which I showed yesterday. They are the ones who carry the statue along the course of the procession. I haven't seen them myself but I am convinced that the statue is on four wheels and the children's role is just to push it along because it is too heavy for them.
Thank you so much for looking and for the comments and fav's on yesterday's picture.
Interesting angle, Dione. I've seen statues on wheels in the parades in Northern Belgium.

Goodness, how strange. I hope the statue is on wheels.

I hope it is on wheels too. That would be rather disconcerting pushing the statue along and not being able to see where you are going. Looks blue is the colour to be wearing, even the ladies shoes are blue.

Quite jealous of this interesting angle, I'm no longer that agile my arthritic joints would struggle to get me upright again. ☺

Hope the statue was on wheels, it would be quite a weight :)

At first I thought there was a bug under there. This is a really cool and interesting shot.

They aren't usually on wheels. The people struggle to carry them sometimes. One local town near us almost had to cancel as they couldn't get enough younger people to carry their statues.
