Yesterday I finished processing the pictures I took on the 5th day of our Portugal holiday of last Easter. This was the day I took the most number of shots – around 250. So in the coming days I will post a few of them. It is always very difficult, at least for me, to select which to post.
Anyway, our first visit was to this amazing monument which was inspired by the Christ the Redeemer statue of Rio de Janeiro, in Brazil and was inaugurated on 17 May 1959. You can see the full monument in the insert. I took that shot before we climbed to the terrace where the statue is by this iron fence.
The image of Christ is 28 metres (92 ft) high and lies on a pedestal formed by four arches and a flat platform of 82 metres (269 ft) height.
Many thanks for your views, comments, and FAV’s. They are very much appreciated.
