BANDSTAND

This ornate bandstand is made of wood and was mounted in the piazza just in front of the Mosta Rotunda for the festa. The local band probably (because I wasn’t there) gave an open air concert for the public on this band stand on the eve of the festa and perhaps on other days too. After the festa it is dismantled and stored away for the next occasion.

Most of Malta’s parishes have their own band and have their own band stands for their own celebrations

Such a colourful and ornate bandstand - I would not have thought it would have been dismantled after each festa - but then I suppose it is for the preservation of such a grand bandstand ! A nice shot Dion !
