Il- ġigġifogu (in English may be called ‘Catherine Wheel’ – not sure about that) .
The intricate work that goes into making this type of fireworks can be seen in this picture which I took on Saturday before last while at the Sliema promenade on the eve of the feast of the parish church of St Gregory. I am not a fan of this type of fireworks but I admire the work that goes into making them.
The festa season in and around Sliema came to an end with this last festa. It is almost the same all over Malta, except for a few secondary festas. Now everyone starts praying for the rains to come.
Thank you so much for your views, comments and fav's on yesterday's picture.
Cool shot.
