Translated into English the name is Church of the holy souls in Purgatory.
September 16th – 4th day of our Sicily holiday with the family.
This is a really interesting church located in the historic centre of Trapani. It was built in the late 17th century and houses a collection of life-sized statues or tableaus which are beautifully carved and which are depicting the passion and death of Christ. If we had been there at Easter time we would have seen a procession/parade with these statues going around the streets of Trapani like they do here in Malta in several towns/villages. We have to make a point to visit during that period sometime in the future.
Thank you so much for all views, comments and fav's - always appreciated. We had a demonstration asking for the resignation of our prime minister yesterday afternoon attended by thousands of people which I attended (I have attended most of the demonstrations till now).
And I have added the website to my post today to show you the apartment we stayed in actually inside the Schönbrunn Palace, so you can see I was not joking! Amazing thing to be able to do. We were blown away.
