Another shot from Wied iż-Żurrieq.
I was waiting for a good wave to come by. I took some shots but this one I liked most.
I didn’t dare get closer to the sea and I have a reason for that. I have a very close friend who I came to know a little time after a tragedy befell his family. One sunny Sunday afternoon, his 20 or so year old daughter was walking with her boyfriend on the rocky beach in this same area; the sea was rough. Suddenly a wave came up and carried her away to sea. Her dead body was found the next day. So sad, isn’t it? He still mentions her every now and then. Memories like these make you be much more cautious.

A beautiful wave but a sad tale. People don't sometimes don't appreciate the power of the ocean.
I have a friend who was an air/sea rescue helicopter pilot and he attended many cases where people had drowned after either walking or fishing on rocks and swept into the sea by rogue waves
That is a very sad story... just shows how strong those waves can be...I have a very real fear of the sea....I don’t mind walking or even going in it but I never turn my back on it...I could never live near the sea. We are eight miles away but much higher up. So sorry for your friends.

Yes, the ocean is beautiful, but dangerous, glad to hear you are taking precautions
