Good Friday today, when Christians commemorate the death of Jesus Christ on the cross. So I spent a good time in my preparations to take this picture for the occasion. Had to clear some furniture to have a blank background, get a blanket and most of all prepare this cross so that I could take its picture. in a dark atmosphere. Christine helped me by holding the mobile's torch and pointing it at an angle which I liked.
This cross belongs to one of Christine's brothers who is a collector and sometimes dealer in antiques. It is around 200 to 300 years old and I am doing some work on the pedestal and the wooden cross for him, free of charge of course.
Thank you for looking, for your comments and for your fav's.
Happy Easter to all.
So poignant and a perfect reminder to us all of God sacrificing his one and only son ! Beautifully set up and captured to commemorate Good Friday . Happy Easter to you and your family Dione . FAV
Very nicely done. I just attended a Good Friday service via Youtube at church. Technology has been such a gift this past year when we couldn't go in person.....and still can't!
This is the first photo I have seen today reminding us of this Good Friday. It doesn’t seem the same without church on this day & I have rather let the day go by without thinking as much as I should have done what the day means. We did go to the graveyard to put flowers on my parents grave but no service. We seemed to have the reading added on to the Psalm Sunday reading. Well done for marking this day.
( watching the modern Dutch Passion on TV yesterday. )
