From the 6th day of our Athens holiday - 18th February, 2023 - and Another excursion that we took from Athens.
This is a merge of 2 shots.
We had a good 2 hour drive to get to this amazing theatre in the middle of nowhere. I have seen several ancient theatres similar to this but this was something very special. We tried the acoustics of the theatre and I was really amazed at how the sound reverberates around the whole theatre.
Some information about this theatre which I have never heard mentioned before this day: The theater of Epidaurus is an ancient theatre in the Peloponnese, Greece, that was built in the 4th century BC by Polykleitos the Younger. It is part of the Sanctuary of Asclepius, a sacred healing center. It is known for its perfect acoustics and fine structure. It has a capacity of around 8,000 people and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a venue for the annual Epidaurus Festival.
Many thanks foor your views, comments and fav's on yesterday's picture.
