From the 6th day of our Athens holiday - 18th February, 2023.
Our last stop for the day was to visit a clay factory and outlet. We were shown how Greek clay goods and ornaments were manufactured in the old days and still manufactured in this particular place. The main difference from those manufactured today is that the paintings and markings are not painted after the clay item is brought out of the kiln but is part of the still ‘raw’ project. The difference is that the paint will not fade, change colour or scratched as in the case when the painting or colouring is the last part of the process.
We were allowed to roam around exhibits and I went close to these huge pots to see them at close range when I had the fright of my life and fell back and almost smashed my camera. I suddenly heard a gruff voice telling me “Don’t you dare touch the pots” but saw no one around until I saw this genie coming out of one of the pots.
Thank you very much for your looks, comments and fav’s on yesterday’s picture. Tomorrow back to some shots from Malta that I took since our return home.
