From the 7th day of our Athens holiday - 19th February, 2023.
It was Sunday morning we were prepared to go watch the Changing of the Guards in front of the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier at Syntagma Square. We were there early to find a good place, thank God I started a conversation with a soldier who was there because he told me where we have to stay as the square would be cleared of people for the parade. By the time the parade was to begin the square was crowded with people and many had to shift to another place. While we waited I saw him arranging the clothing of the soldiers on guard, just like a seamstress making sure a skirt fits her client perfectly. This reminded me of my mother-in-law (rip) who was a seamstress and who in her days clothing wasn’t bought ready-made but was fitted according to the person’s wishes and stature.
Thank you very mush for your visits, comments and fav's. They are always appreciated.
