Volunteers and other hired workers were decorating the church of St Joseph in Rabat when we passed by. Competition between people living in parishes next to each other encourages, more likely forces, the local church authorities to do their best to organise a great festa. In Rabat the competition is between the church of St Paul’s Shipwreck and that of St. Joseph. In my childhood days the competition was very strong and resulted in squabbles between adjacent parties. These do not happen nowadays, and the parish festa is hardly a church event and more an occasion to make happy with friends and a touristic event. Fireworks during a festa are definitely great crowd pullers.
It's 4.30am at the moment, everything is ready and waiting for the taxi to tae us to Luqa Airport to fly to Bosnia Herzegovina for a week's holiday. Not sure about internet contact but will try to stay in contact.
Thank you for your looks, comments and fav's.
