pleasure for passers by

walking to the paper shop on Friday I noticed these little mimulus flowers against the wall, beside the drainpipe at Morris's Hotel.
No soil to be seen...but there are little plants along the pavement in the summer and they are clearly hardy little things!

Amazing, I thought mimulus were moisture loving, doesn't look like they would get their feet very wet there!!
