September Nerines by sarah19

September Nerines

Well it is definitely September as these pink lily like flowers have popped out of their buds under our lounge window and they are always welcome as they are much more of a summer colour!
Just for here I made the effort to find out what they were!!!!
Nerines....apparently originally from South Africa. Hmmm the people who lived here before us spent a lot of time there before moving permanently when they sold us this house. Perhaps the Nerines actually did come from SA as they have been there ever since we arrived!
Nice to enjoy anyway!
Very pretty!! It's fun to "inherit" beautiful flowers from the former tenants. Lovely shot for today- now I must go find one of my own!

What a treat to have these blooming in your garden at this time of the year when everything else seems to be dying down. I love the colour.

@happypat
yes Pat - the picture had gone into 2010 album as that was the date on the photo from last year. I managed to work it out myself before asking for help so glad I didn't bother anyone!!!

These are lovely - I wonder if now is the time to plabt them for next year? It would be great to have something new when everything is fading.
