This is the old building of Tain Royal Academy where I went when I was 12. The following summer the new school opened on a different site.
It's a beautiful building and I have lovely memories of being a pupil there. Dad taught there too, from the start of his teaching career until 1968 when he was DHT at a smaller school in Hilton (8 miles away) and when it closed he was transferred back to Tain Royal Academy (new building!).
We were all very proud of our 'Royal' status and I think there had to be a special request to the Queen to continue using it at the new academy.
Some time ago this old building was refurbished and has been 'Duthac House' a residential home for senior citizens.
I just loved the way the light caught it when I walked by the other morning.
Had to choose yellow and black for the frame as these were our school tie colours!
Beautiful shot- the lighting is soft and lovely. It's nice when you have such good memories tied into a place. And it's also nice that the building can continue to be useful to others. It's so sad when they are left to decay.
