Marieke Cake and that tea pot again! by sarah19

Marieke Cake and that tea pot again!

Nothing beats that smell of cake making at the end of a day!
This is a lovely recipe we got from our friend Marieke who came from the Netherlands to stay for several weeks while doing some work experience in Aberdeen to develop her English language skills, several years ago! We still keep in touch and always think of her when we have the cake. She brought one with her when she came and it was one of her grandmother's recipes so has a real history! We renamed it Marieke Cake!
Definitely that kind of day in Oldmeldrum......my friend Lorna was baking today too! http://365project.org/lornareid/365/2011-11-29

@busylady @happypat
250 grams SR flour, 250 grams soft brown sugar, (mix well) large handful of sultanas, generous teaspoon of mixed spice, 1/4 litre milk, 3-4 tablespoons natural yoghurt.
Pour into ' ring tin' and bake for about 40 mins (gas 4-5) depends on your oven! Turn out on to cooling rack and sift some icing sugar over it!!! Enjoy!
