Susannah and I went to church at Methlick and the laburnum trees in the garden area between the church and the car park are so vibrant.
And that's the church in the background. It's been a special place to go from time to time in recent years and yesterday was a mixed feelings day as it was the last time we'll see the lovely minister as he and his family are returning to the USA where their extended families are. He will be greatly missed, as a lovely person, a remarkable teacher and an inspiring school chaplain....and probably lots more!
Three good things
1. The gift of communicating good news
2. Love for those around us
3. Precious memories to carry us forward when special people move on.
You don't see many laburnum trees these days. It seems that the scare in the 70's about the poisonous pods stopped people from planting them. They still make a striking tree though.
