On Friday the baton was travelling south from John o'Groats to Dingwall, passing through Tain. Kate and I went to watch. Lovely to see the High Street full of people, pipe band playing at the Royal Hotel and quite a buzz about the place.
Three good things
1. We saw a few familiar faces but long time since growing up days when we knew everyone in town!
2. Kate gave me a lift to Inverness to catch my train before heading West to Glenelg. Nice to have company and we popped in to Tain Pottery on the way and bought some lovely things!
3. Restful train ride home -got lots of chores done before leaving - and lovely meal when I got back. (I think Allan missed me...He had a bottle of champagne ready in the fridge! )
