Towards Bennachie

This is a photo I posted back in August 2011. I was walking in glorious woodland not far from our house with two friends and their dogs. I haven't been back often but I must go again soon. Perhaps when Connor and Finnley are visiting we can have fun together.
That first time we were remembering a good friend who had lost her battle with cancer and it was comforting to share lovely memories. Today I was at a funeral service for Sue, one of these friends who had a short few weeks from her cancer diagnosis. She had moved south a couple of years ago but wanted to be brought back to Aberdeenshire where she had been very happy, bringing up her daughters and being very much part of aspects of the local community.
It was lovely to see the church full of family and friends, and to see and hear pictures and words that reminded us all of her gracious and generous character.
And Beth who was with us that evening had written a beautiful poem, Walking with Sue, which she read at the service.
I came away grateful for all the memories of a very special friend.
Three good things
1. Tears can be good when they are shared with friends.
2. Clear pathway at the church...one of my friends had spent several hours weeding the church path yesterday
3. Train journeys to catch up with messages. Nearly at Inverness.
Thankyou for your memories.

I am so sorry to hear of the loss of your friend, but it sounds like there are some very special memories that will stay with you. What a beautiful spot to have a memory of cherished friendships.
