A comfortable night, delicious breakfast and we headed for the city; taxi, train, metro and a short walk took us to the little apartment we're staying in.
Lovely host and very Italian setting....and lovely perfume of flowers growing in the garden close by.
Tram to the city centre and Susannah had booked tickets for this wonderful cathedral, -- we climbed to the galleries at the top - amazing view.
In the sunshine everything looked so splendid. And lots of chat along the way.
Three good things
1 when we had questions people were friendly.
2. Loved the warmth of the sunshine
3. An amazing meal at a lovely restaurant, sitting outside and taking advice from the waiters when we found choosing tricky 😄😄😄😄

And yes lots of tourists but not overwhelming.
Oh, I remember this cathedral. When I was doing an Open University course, I had an optional study weekend in Milan. I hesitated for about 2 seconds before booking my train (was living in Paris at the time). The study office was just off this square - so I had a lovely few days there. Nice capture of this beautiful cathedral.
What a fantastic building. The weather looks wonderful.
And yes lots of tourists but not overwhelming.
