Most of the buds are still quite tightly closed but two or three that were on the sheltered side of the large bush (and protected with fleece) are opening! It's so good to see. Seven years ago we had a beast of a winter with so much frost and wind that only three little flower buds actually survived at the bottom.
Always good to see the pink flowers - a well known local gardener wrote in the newspaper that they don't survive on east facing walls!
Three good things
1. Positive service at church this morning.
2. A visit to Pitmedden Garden.....it hasn't been open until May in past years so it was interesting to see things just beginning to peep through.
3. Smell of chicken cooking....Allan is busy with a favourite Rick Stein recipe - chicken with chorizo and vegetables.....can't wait!!!
