Gratitude

These are the glasses son Jonathan was wearing 20 years ago today .....he was knocked down by a car when crossing the road just outside our house. Rather alarming but he was soon feeling fine apart from a broken leg. His Dad was working in Edinburgh at that point but neighbours and friends were wonderful and we were filled with a warm sense of care.
Now much more road sense - cycled Lands End to John o' Groats in 2012 and off to cycle Loch Ness roads at the weekend.
Three good things
1. Rain this evening...garden needing it.
2. Salted caramel cake for dessert....
3. Tickets to Amsterdam booked for a long weekend.
Oh my! Thankful for happy endings.

It's interesting the "trophies" we sometimes keep to remind us of miracles we've experienced. I'm glad to know you're son was ok- both my sons were hit by cars- my husband too! We have told them that their sons are not allowed to carry on this family "tradition"- a request they are all too happy to keep!

Oh dear, that must have been a terrible moment for you all. How lovely that you kept the glasses. I hope your son does well on the cycle ride. We are beginning to feel nervous, as you do before a big event of any sort.

20 years and Iā€™m sure you still remember it as though it was yesterday. Thank goodness it was only his leg and glasses that were damaged

Ooh mixed feelings looking at those! Amsterdam is a lovely place.....not been but Lydia liked it best of all the places she visited when she went inter-railing!
