Walking to visit a friend yesterday I passed this statue which has recently been refurbished. In the sunlight he wa looking quite good. I think there's still a bit of work to be done and his 'story plaque' needs to be returned for everyone to read.
He was bought from a farm sale near Alford in 1938, but it originated in southern England as a memorial statue of a French sailor, who married an English girl but was lost at sea.
Three good things
1. Happy children after their long weekend.
2. Song practice time for Nativity performances next month.
3. Watching Masterchef recorded last night....and falling asleep!!!!
