So the Christmas tree is up! A much smaller one than the giant one we had last year, but it seems to have plenty branches for forty years worth of decorations!!!!
The Noel Bell I bought in Melbourne last year and the quirky little angel is the one Laura has always loved best so I sent this photo to her earlier. And got an instant 'happy face' reply!!!
Still have to hang some of the ornaments but that can wait for tomorrow.
Three good things
1. Cosy house....curtains closed.....cold and dark outdoors.
2. Memories.....each of the little packs of Christmas decorations holds special memories of when children were small, or bought/made items when they were students, and it's lovely to remember. This year it's just the two of us.....the first time ever. But it will be rather nice I think, and Skype time across the day!!!
3. Time to sleep....
I really miss putting my tree up but since we never know if we're going to be traveling the ornaments remain in the box. Maybe next year I'll put one up anyway- I miss it even more when I see lovely shots like this! The first Christmas with just the two of you has a very different feeling- for me it was enjoyable but it felt like something was missing too...
