For Louise

Busy day....learning on laptop, delivering rolls to a friend while on my daily walk, gardening lots......
My ornamental pear tree has a mind of its own so I took the secateurs out and got busy!
Half way round and down I spotted the lovely flower...just one...fritillaria...which I was not aware of until I met my friend Louise on 365. She now works overseas but I always think of her when I see this beauty. I think I need to plant some more....she had an expanse of them in her garden.
Three good things
1. Learning new ways to use technology....takes time but getting there.
2. Quite a clearance of dry and dead stuff around the garden.
3. Leftover lasagne for dinner... now I could snooze!!!
The first time I saw one of these flowers I was really amazed at the design & intricacy of the pattern on the petals. Even the name fits!

Beautiful. We once had some of these lovely flowers in our garden, but they all disappeared. No idea why...

Thank you for your lovely comments.
We used to have a little group of these but not sure why they have not survived. I was really delighted to find this one....must plant some more and hope some self-seed.
