River Don and Bennachie from the train

A different kind of day.....took the train to Aberdeen to meet up with one of my many cousins for lunch. It was pretty strange. Aberdeen's main street was like a ghost town and so many shops have closed. I had a few things to get and had half an hour before we were due to meet and had everything in the bag in 20 minutes!
It's been a long time since I saw my cousin, even though we don't live very far apart. I'm the 'oldest grandchild' on my Mum's side of the family and she is 13 years younger than I am ............and I probably haven't really had many adult conversations with her before. Anyway, it was rather nice to have 'catch up' time and I could fill in lots of stories that she had never known about.
On the journey home the sun was shining but a mobile phone in a moving train is not the best way to capture a view! It's just for the record really!
Three good things
1. CUP.....good name for a coffee shop!! and I'd be very happy to go again.
2. An unexpected meeting with relations of Allan, so lovely to meet as we haven't been able to go out to visit for so long!
3. Early train home, leftovers for tea and ready for school in the morning.
Lots of stripy layers!

A lovely view of Bennachie. We were looking at it from the top of Pannanich hill in Ballater, yesterday! I haven't been in Aberdeen since I collected my car after it had been locked down in the garage for 4 months. I hardly even think of going there any more. Although, I'll be going back in December for a dental appointment - the first of 2020. Things have changed SO much over 9 months.
