Cheers! Burn's Day in Scotland

So haggis, neeps and tatties for supper.....with a little glass of.....Drambuie for me!

I did enjoy it and that was very good after feeling under par for a few days.

Three good things
1. Lots of sleep
2. Grey changed to blue in the sky.
3. Catch up with the siblings this evening.
Looks delicious Sallie...needs & tattles....I love them. Every two years our local free Focus magazine has a Burns night but not this year....went last year...we didn’t know what we were all in for then!

Ooh... This brings back memories only had haggis once, on burns night in a pub in Manchester about 35 years ago (oh dear why did I work that out?!). Pleased you're feeling better.

Rather you than me Sarah! I'm not keen on haggis - or turnip, although we have enjoyed the odd Burns night supper with friends in the past. I even tied for first place in the whisky tasting competition one year and I don't even like whisky!

Thank you for your amusing comments!!
I'm not a great fan of neeps on their own so we cook the carrots and turnips and then blitz them together with butter and pepper!
And not a great whisky fan really, though Allan says I have a good nose and detect lots of aromas that he can't pick up at all!!

I would be so interested in tasting this as I've got some Scottish blood in me- but probably not the whiskey! I'm not much of a drinker- mostly likely to my ancestor's dismay. Looks yummy!

I tried haggis when I visited your fair country in 2014 and I must say I'll never get those tastebuds back again!

Looks like a great meal. It has been years since I’ve had Drambuie. I have to say the taste memory came to me when I saw the word!

I had a slightly different take on the traditional ... a 'Haggis Beastie' from our butcher. Haggis, chicken and bacon en croute, basically. It was really nice, if a little 'heavy'! It was huge too, so there's leftover for tonight, AND half in the freezer for another day! Hubby sups the amber nectar, but a glass of red for me any day!

@jamibann that sounds delicious. Variations on a theme are always interesting. We didn't often have haggis when we were young as our Dad didn't like it!!
