Kate has a lot of sheep to feed at the moment- she's part of a local group- so we accompanied her to the large shed where the sheep have good shelter in winter months before lambing time.
She suggested I take a stick....it was useful for climbing over fences!!!
It was such a glorious day, but still lots of mud around so 'watch your step' territory.
I don't remember when I was so close to sheep but I must have been quite small as my memory of them was a bit fearful. Anyway, these were definitely a bit wary of us rather than the other way round. The focus was their food.
I did laugh when I saw this photo which Kate took.....how many crofters would be out wearing their pearls!!!
Three good things
1. My awesome sister.....really she is!
2. Green spaces and new growth, the hawthorn hedge had visibly turned green in 36 hours with the sudden warmth - it was 18degrees there.
3. The food chain - she sent us home with lots of frozen lamb from last year's flock.
Kate sounds like a good country girl….you were rewarded very grandly! I think I would join you in the pearl brigade, I used to milk the cows in mine! Part of our uniform!!
