Old and New

The ancient stones here 'were constructed over 4000 years ago'

And across the farmed landscape you can see the three recently constructed windmills which power Mackies (the luxury ice-cream producers) http://www.mackies.co.uk/about/video_tour.aspx
Tree wind turbines for ice-cream ...my word you must eat a lot up there !!!! Lovely photo of old stones & modern technology !

Lovely light and shadows.

What great contrast, Sarah. We have many of these in the rural area of MIchigan where our cottage is located. Many people dislike the disruption of the natural landscape but I rather like the reminder that there are alternative forms of energy out there. Lovely capture.

Great juxtaposition! And a beautiful landscape too. The wiind turbines have been hotly debated here. Some like the idea of harnessing the wind and using its power instead of coal or nuclear. Others think they're a blight on the landscape and endanger birds. I don't know if they'll ever come to an agreement, but I am fascinated by those things and think they do more good than harm. Nice capture!
