Scots all over the world eating haggis, served with neeps and tatties (mashed turnip and potatoes) to keep up the tradition, along with a glass of 'uisge beatha' (whisky - Gaelic) and accompanied by reciting of poetry and daft speeches!
Here are my before and after pictures! Really enjoyed it .....but 'skipped' the speeches!
Thanks for the reminder. Not being a Scot I nearly forgot, but fortrunately had a canned haggis (!) in my cupboard, which saved the day (or night!). Not as good as freshly kiilled, but it's the thought trhat counts.
Oh the things we learn from our 365 friends! The neeps and tatties sound delightful as well as the whiskey - not so sure about the haggis after googling it. All in the name of tradition, I suppose. Sounds like fun. (Oh, and a great collage as always!)
I do have Scottish blood but I am lacking in much knowledge about these things- thankfully I have all you wonderful friends to educate me! The neeps and tatties sound good- but I'd have to pass on the whiskey or only have a sip. I think I'd try the haggis if I could get past what it actually is! Oh, maybe that's why you have the whiskey. Great collage!
Do hope you enjoyed your 'Haggis and Neeps'! Never taste the same anywhere but Scotland... 'Oh Tam,gie me a border burn, that canna rin wi'out a turn...' (showing off now...he he).
