... into the world of couple shoots. Janice who works in the local estate agent office where I help out sometimes at weekends asked me to do a couple shoot for them as they were unable to get a booking with the local professional photographer for ages. So I figured it would be good experience for me and they would at least get a few photos without high expectations. Out of the 80 I shot, I ended up with 23 photos that were okay. Not technically perfect. I can see the errors. But Janice is thrilled and so I guess that is all that matters right now.
Good for you! It's a fine line been flattery and fear when asked to do something that's important to those who make the request. Fine job accomplished as Janice and Boyf look pleased with themselves. Engagement?
Fantastic achievement! Please be assured we will always feel that are pics aren't perfect but we aren't selling to photographers - says she who has just had the same experience 😁
@cottiac Yes absolutey. I didn't charge for this shoot. But Janice has been telling me for months I'm better than I think I am, and I should start charging for matric dance shoots, weddings, etc. So perhaps now I may dabble my toes in starting to charge. May even earn enough to buy a flash which will make a huge difference when I learn to use it.
Hello Desi, thanks for my get pushed challenge, I will have a go at a portrait but as you rightly observed it is not something I have done much of! For your challenge how about gathering together 4 or 5 objects that you would not normally find together and shoot them in a way that is interesting and pleasing yo you. Have fun!
@beckyk365 Thank you Becky. They are over the moon with their photos. I guess I'm super critical of myself because I know what the pros achieve, and this is far from it. They are now telling me they want to book me for a paid shoot for their wedding in December.
