We've had rain!

Not as much as this picture implies as it has just been a few short, sharp bursts throughout the day. This particular little shower was only about 5 minutes, but then a while later there was a bit more. We went to Moorreesburg today to the factory where Roto Tanks are made, and ordered our water tank. Unfortunately too late for this storm, but hopefully it will be filled later in the season. (The little bit of green on the lawn is from me throwing my dish water out. This is taken from my kitchen door)
We've had rain too...and it was much needed. Climate habits seem to have disappeared into a handful of different weather situations every week. We were away - an hour's drive - until Monday...and enjoyed excellent weather. Whilst an hour's is no big deal re weather, La Roche Bernard has a microclimate, is on the estuary, has natural protection and we were able to eat outdoors every day.

@s4sayer Yes, with weather patterns an hour's drive can make a huge difference.

it was on our news that some places had suffered too much - isn't that the way!

@anniesue Yes it often is. We are very fortunate, I guess. We have had some wind, and a bit of a storm, and some rain, but nothing that has caused any damage, nor interfered with our normal lives. At the moment I am just feeling very grateful for the rain. Some of my tomatoes have broken because I hadn't got them all properly staked and tied up although I knew there was a storm coming, but that is hardly a disaster. And my Russian Comfrey plant is looking somewhat worse for wear after a branch blew onto it, breaking it up. But again, hardly a disaster. So I am very lucky indeed.

Hallelujah!! I hope you get lots more - and I hope we get some too!

@narayani Thank you. Yes I hope so too - both you and us

P.S. there is snow on the mountains 80km (50 miles) east of us. This means it is really cold here now, but it's good news because the fruit trees need this cold, and mainly because when the snow starts melting in summer that runoff is what will help boost the dam levels.

Yea!! Even small amounts can make things green up a little bit at least here. Crossing my fingers that you have rain in your future. You have a lovely patio and pool area by the way. I hope you have some time to enjoy it.
