Hmm. This just isn't really working, although I kind of like the lightness and whiteness - but the photos with the white tea cup were the aha moment that really made me aware of how the dark background changes things! Look at how great the reflection is just where the arm of my specs is, compared to all the paleness behind that. Sounds really obvious in retrospect - but I am totally sincere in saying that seeing this was an aha moment for me.
