Rainbow

Today would have been my Dad's birthday. Happy Birthday Dad.
It is also full moon tonight. So Karen and I went out to try and get a moonset early this morning. Cloud cover much to dense to see the moon, but we stayed a while and suddenly the clouds moved aside a little and the sun popped out, a rainbow appeared for a few minutes. Just managed to get a couple of shots before the clouds closed in, the sun went and the rainbow was gone. But it reminded me of playing my parents 78's on the record player. Loved Slim Whitman and immediately started singing in my head "There's a rainbow in every teardrop you're crying" So although this isn't my best shot from this morning, it is the most significant to me, bringing a sense of peace and joy.
Oh Desi, what a wonderful sign. Thinking of you, often.

What a wonderful story

this is a lovely shot anyway - and goes to show that chance captures can be just as good as planned ones. A lot of people wouldn't have taken this - and they would have been wrong!

Remarkable what unexpected things happen when least expected. Such moments and memories are particularly precious. We must guard and remember them. It would have been my father's birthday w weeks ago.

Lovely photo. I hope that the rest of December has brought you peace and happiness....hard to get through all those milestones and special days without your loved one.
