As I got there mum flew away and one baby blackbird raised its mouth up to the sky.
I wasn't able to get a shot of this, so will try again in a couple of days.
The nest shows that 2 out of the three babies are developing, 1 appears to be gone, and the final egg hasn't hatched.
I don't want to keep disturbing mum and dad, so will try again in a few days.
Meanwhile our cat is confined to the house and has several accompanied trips to the garden every day!! Its hard work this parenthood thing!!! Actually, I see myself as more of an uncle to these fledglings!!
How exciting!! They already look bigger than a few days ago!! Lol ... yes parenting is hard... I think harder when it's animals... although, they don't speak back! lol
@ozziehoffy Yes, they are definitely bigger, though haven't got eyes yet. I am really excited, but the kids are at school and Rebecca is at work, so I am so pleased there are some 365ers out there!!
@ozziehoffy Yep. You know, I have 2 shots in PP at the moment, and that is fab, I love both of the shots and am loving the comments about them. That said, these baby Blackbird shots are so much more exciting for me.
@seanoneill lol that's funny but yeah, there's something about being able to watch wild animals grow up. At the moment... about 1/3 of the PP's are people I follow hahaha... there's a few with doubles too... well done to all! These things seem to go in cycles lol. Congrats on yours.
@ozziehoffy Thanks, yes I know what you mean. It is funny how when you post a shiot you have no idea how it will be received and how surprising the response is for some!
@cocobella I think so. Apparaently it takes them about 2-3 weeks to fledge and leave the nest. So hopefully I will get 4 or 5 more shots of them as they develop.
Hi Sean saw your theme shot for corners & like your interesting photos so I am following you !! This is a sweet shot, love those two babies lying side by side !!!
@happypat Thanks Pat, that i svery kind of you to say. I am very pleased that anyone likes my photos, so when they are kind enough to tell me, well that just makes my day! I'm glad that you like this shot, it is very exciting what is going on in our greenhouse!!
@seanoneill I have just taken a picture of two baby doves in the corner of the roof in the shed, I will post it tomorrow for the theme...not a great picture but still. These are very tiny , your boys will be thrilled !
I guess it's only natural that some babies don't make it, and some eggs just don't hatch, but it's so great to see that these two appear to be healthy!
Glad to see these two are active and doing well! I hope they grow healthy and strong. What an awesome sight. I have never seen a nest with baby birds in them, so your photos are a treat for me. Thank you for the update! 8)
