Wonderful news

photo 123
I have just popped down to the greenhouse.

As I got there mum flew away and one baby blackbird raised its mouth up to the sky.

I wasn't able to get a shot of this, so will try again in a couple of days.

The nest shows that 2 out of the three babies are developing, 1 appears to be gone, and the final egg hasn't hatched.

I don't want to keep disturbing mum and dad, so will try again in a few days.

Meanwhile our cat is confined to the house and has several accompanied trips to the garden every day!! Its hard work this parenthood thing!!! Actually, I see myself as more of an uncle to these fledglings!!

How exciting!! They already look bigger than a few days ago!! Lol ... yes parenting is hard... I think harder when it's animals... although, they don't speak back! lol

Not the most attractive little birds yet but I am guessing they will improve with age.

@ozziehoffy Yes, they are definitely bigger, though haven't got eyes yet. I am really excited, but the kids are at school and Rebecca is at work, so I am so pleased there are some 365ers out there!!

@ozziehoffy Yep. You know, I have 2 shots in PP at the moment, and that is fab, I love both of the shots and am loving the comments about them. That said, these baby Blackbird shots are so much more exciting for me.

@seanoneill lol that's funny but yeah, there's something about being able to watch wild animals grow up. At the moment... about 1/3 of the PP's are people I follow hahaha... there's a few with doubles too... well done to all! These things seem to go in cycles lol. Congrats on yours.

@ozziehoffy Thanks, yes I know what you mean. It is funny how when you post a shiot you have no idea how it will be received and how surprising the response is for some!

Good news ! Next step : the feathers.!

@cocobella I think so. Apparaently it takes them about 2-3 weeks to fledge and leave the nest. So hopefully I will get 4 or 5 more shots of them as they develop.

I guess it's only natural that some babies don't make it, and some eggs just don't hatch, but it's so great to see that these two appear to be healthy!
