So, I am relying on my notebook for things we've spotted when out and about. Down at Zouch, (see link for a previous shot from this tiny hamlet.) there have been Swans for years. This majestic bird was sat on the nest today, so I guess we can look forward to some more eggs hatching.
Shot in colour, cropped and converted to B+W via the saturation slider and colour popped.
@fannyb Thanks Fanny and for the Fav. It is ever so easy if you have Photoshop. Creat a duplicate layer, select Hue and Satursation, slide the saturation slider all the way to the left and then use the paintbrush to paint back in the colour that you want. Be careful with your brush size and hardness, and zoom in so you get all the colour back that you want. Hope this helps, but there are plenty of tutorials on the net.
@myautofocuslife Aww schucks Livia, thank you sooo much, I am thrilled that you like it, more so for the Fav, and even more so that you are following me now. :))
@megsy it bowls me over when people say this to me, your street shots are off the scale great, so it means a huge amount when you think similar about my shots. Not sure today's will get the awesome tag, it's for my nephews, watch this space......
SEAN!!! THIS IS AMAZING!!!!!! FAVE+ for Me!! And i was going to go back to the Lake today to catch the Swan..hahaha! There is no beating this one..On the Nest and Reflection too!! Now this belongs in a Magazine!! Great Eye my friend!!!
I know i've commented on this photo before, I can't get it out of my mind, it is so beautiful, how do you do the saturation thing and colour pop?I've googled it but don't have photoshop.......is that essential?
@seanoneill just the rather basic pic monkey at the moment but wondering which to invest in..........think I would need a couple of classes they seem quite complicated, downloaded GIMP free but really don't understand it at all!! Hope the cricket isn;t rained off!!
@fannyb Thanks Fanny, cricket was played and my lads won their opening game by 10 wickets. I am very proud of them all for the manner of the victory and the way they approached the match. Will hopefully look at Picmonkey later re selective colours, but I use PS CS5.
@jillmstruss Awww thanks for finding it Jill, and for the +Fav, always makes me smile when I get a +Fav, especially from a great photographer like yourself.
This is the third Swans nest shot that I have seen this afternoon and all quite different. This is a wow in black and white and reflection, quite a different take.
