What do people think about B+W and selective colouring them?
I will catch up with all your wonderful work hopefully on sunday. I am in London all day tomorrow.
Thanks to everyone who has made such wonderful comments about my work in the last 2 weeks, I can't believe I've made the PP 4 times and the Top 20 once. You are all wonderful, and I want to buy you all a pint!!
These little blue flowers are pretty! Beautifully captured. 8) Selective coloring sometimes works, sometimes doesn't. I think it works best when it's not actively screaming "LOOK AT ME! I'M SELECTIVELY COLORED!" 8D
Lovely shot - I don't think selective coloring would make it better. Your dof and the marvelous blue do enough to draw attention. I agree with Liva - too much in this particular instance.
For me the green background here really adds to and makes this shot for me. I think black and white or selective colour may loose the impact. I love this just as it is.
I agree with the others - selective color works really well at times but I think in this case all the colors are great and I think the green background really makes the blue flowers stand out.
they're lovely, I'd never noticed them growing symmetrically along a stem in pairs like this
I think selective colour is something to be used very judiciously and seldom - these are lovely just like this
Lovely simple beautiful composition, and I agree with the above posters that the colours are a big part of what makes this shot so great. It can't hurt to play with selective colour (that's what I did for my shot today, lol, so I can't really be pointing fingers), but I think you'd find that full colour is more satisfying for this particular shot. Very pretty little flowers, those forget-me-nots are! Oh, and I'm not much of a beer drinker, so please make mine a big French roast coffee with lots of cream. :) All kidding aside, your work is highly deserving of such profuse popularity! Take a bow, sir!
