OK, so yesterday I uploaded a pic of the Agfamatic camera made in 1974 that my father in law bought me for £1-00, and lot sof you said very nice things about it and wanting me to get on with using it.
So, it's confession time. Rebecca bought me a Diana F+ Lomo camera for Valentimes Day last year and I have been too hooked on digital and nervous about Lomo to use it!!!
Here it is in all its glory. I have decided to have a go with it now. I plan to do a few landscapes first using my Diana camera and by using the lenses on my D300S.
I wanted year 2 of my project to be about experimenting where possible, so here goes!!
My first shot taken with a plastic Diana+ Lens connected to my Nikon will be in my other album shortly. The colours are garish, the focus is a little blurred, but there are no rules so who cares!!
That's looking great! I regret now having given away my darkroom stuff (and it wasn't easy to find someone who would have it). But then, where to find the time?
i'm new to all of this - thought old film was only good to be tossed out...but by the sounds of it, you can still use??? but not predictable in the outcome???? i just came across old film in a box i was sorting a couple of weeks ago and guess where it went!!!!! oh well
How funny to be scared of film when 15 years ago, maybe 10 we were all using it and collecting the packaged result from Boots!! Have fun,all sounds very exciting and good to step outside the comfort zone!!
So that's what lomo means.... saw the effect on picnik etc but never realised. I shall look forward to seeing what you do!
(And I feel better about not using my Christmas present too much already - bit scared.. the screen keeps doing odd things which one day, when I get a chance to sit down and explore, will probably make sense to me....)
How interesting to actually read what Lomo is!! I used it by editing on my railway line a few days ago it really brings a shot alive, will be fascinated by your results...crumbs it almost Valentiness day again, you better get cracking!!!
And lucky us as we get to see the images.
