I cannot thanks you all for your messages of love and support following my shots yesterday and the day before. What an incredible community this is. I will catch up with you all soon, I promise!
Sam wore his new CCF uniform to school today. He really looks the part. He was recently promoted to Lance Corporal, and is so proud of his role in CCF at Loughborough Grammar School.
Sam accepts his brother hogging the limelight every now and again with remarkable grace, and is every bit as worried as we are. As soon as he sees him and knows that all is well, they are back to trading blows as brothers do.
Taken in our lounge with Ben shining a torch, squeezed in just before our evening meal!
Sam is so like you Sean...a chip off the old block & he would be proud to be too!
An excellent portrait with the light highlighting the bones of his face ...well done to Sam...no finer training in life. Some more in our country could do with a bit of this in their lives!!
All good with Ben today by the sounds of it ...excellent news.
Trading blows as brothers do is a great thing to read! My two are very close and never particularly physical (maybe because they are brother/sister rather than brother/brother or sister/sister) but they do trade verbal blows from time to time. Congrats Sam on your promotion and congrats Sean on a super shot.
Very powerful photo with the side lighting. Good to hear that life is getting back to normal - although so worrying for you while you wait for a date for the stent .
@jocasta thanks Jocasta, for me Ben's keyhole stent feels like I've won the lottery! I'm sure I'll worry, only natural I guess, but for now the feeling of relief is huge.
Sean, please know that the O'Neill family is in my prayers. I am so impressed by you all. Such love and hope is inspiring and heartwarming. I love the shots of the last three days, you have a real gift of expression. Sam looks like a man to be reckoned with here.
@rvwalker it's Combined Cadet Force. Most boys at their school do it in years 10 and 11 every Thursday afternoon. They "join" either the Army, Navy or RAF and get to do activities associated with their respective force. When they enter years 12 and 13 most give it up but Sam has continued. It teaches discipline, teamwork and self awareness and it has been incredibly good for Sam. Ben didn't join, he is doing an additional public exam subject, studying Computer Studies. Several boys from CCF join the forces from school and go on to become officers.

You must be proud of both of your boys.
Great portrait.
