Cooling Tower Long Exposure ~ 1 by seanoneill

Cooling Tower Long Exposure ~ 1

At the end of a tiring week I felt I needed to try something new, something off the bucket list, to help me shake off the lethargy. I also wanted to go back to some familiar haunts for the B+W Technique18 challenge

Rebecca and I drove over to East Midlands Parkway Station to see if I could get some long exposure shots of Ratcliffe Power Station.

It was cold and raining so we didn't hang around, but I am quite pleased with how some of the shots have come out. I have to post and dash now, but will put some more up later, including the rather interesting SOOC colour version, and another bucket list shot from New Covert this morning.

Better large.
Towering out of the mist. Rather like this.

I love B&W photos. AI like your shots. They inspire me to do more.. Very nice work.

A rather ominous photo with the gray on gray tones.

you've captured the size of those cooling towers - I see them when I visit my daughter

I really love this Sean, it has an edgy industrial feel - like a post apocalyptic shot.. fav

I wondered if you had taken these from the station, il have to take my camera with me next time I'm travelling down to london. Nice blend of b and w tones.

@cazla yes, all taken from the layby outside the station, right at the end nearest the 453. I've a few more vantage points to go back to as well.

I feel there is a lot of scope for experimenting with long exposures - must try some myself!
