Today was inspection day for the Loughborough Grammar School Combined Cadet Force.
My son Sam is part of the Army section of the CCF, and today was probably his last involvement. He will probably give up next year to concentrate on his academic studies. In his 3 years in CCF he has risen to the rank of Corporal, and today was given the responsibility of being a marker, and firing the gun at the beginning and end of the Gun Race. He is immensely proud of his role today, as our all the family who were there to watch him.
Here he is, having marched into place on his own in front of a crowd of 400 or so spectators carrying the flag of A company.
