Trolleybus in Seattle "Technology that has made a difference."

The trolleybus is an electric bus that draws its electricity from overhead wires. The trolleybus dates back to April 29, 1882 in a Berlin suburb. We feel very protective of our tolleybuses. For one, trolley buses don't make the air smell like diesel. They don't shake your house when they drive by. And they don't emit greenhouse gases from the tailpipe.
This is technology that has lasted over time....
I remember when I was a child living in Derby they had trolleybuses , like this may be not so smart and I think they were double - decker. interesting shot

Great theme shot, Constance :)

Great shot, Constance. The new light rail system here in Charlotte operates the same way - very sleek, clean, quiet and efficient.

I love trolleybuses--they are much nicer to look at too!! Love the photo.

aren't the trolley buses free in Seattle, too? Seems like I remember that. Great technology shot.

Love these trolleybuses - they are so much nicer than the smelly ones! What a great way to get about Seattle - my husband was stationed there years ago! We've been back for visits - love it!

The trolleybus looks like great fun!

Lovely shot...I also like the nostalgia factor of using trolleys. We have some "pretend" trolleys in Richmond...just buses dressed up to look like trolleys...that doesn't really count though!

Good thinking. Would have missed that one, even if it had driven in front of me.

this is a lovely capture, and very appropriate given the fact that we are using most of our technology to pollute.

Cool shot

thanks Constance, for your comment today. Your perspective and words have earned some weight in my world. I like hearing what you have to say.

Nice shot for the theme. We had trolleybuses in Helsinki a long ago but I've heard that they would come back. Hope so.

That looks familiar. ;-)

RE: I'm making roasted eggplant sandwiches with fresh mozzerella, provolone, marinara sauce, fresh basil, all on a toasted bagutte. Served up with red wine. Mmmmm ....

Here's a link to the sandwich I made for my weekly cooking challenge a while back.

I totally get the feel of the town from this! Nice one :D

Nice Shot! I've never ridden on an electric trolleybus - I'd like to see what it's like. Thanks for coming to my project.

I like it when the buses go were there are not overhead cables, at least I remember that happening. I could be wrong, we do not spend as much time in Seattle as we used to since my brother-in-law moved from Bremerton to Bellingham.

Great shot. I didnt know you had trolley buses in Seattle. We have them in NZ too particularly in Wellington although yours look much newer than our old work horses.
