It is a beautiful city, nicely captured. I ahve spent a lot of time flying into Seattle, taking the ferry and staying in Silverdale for business. Enjoy the trip, beautiful city everytime
Every time I'm in Seattle the weather is beautiful. I joke that the claim of constant rain is simply an attempt to keep Californians from moving there. I agree with you - great city.
@lintbrush This made me laugh. I think it was a true attempt to keep the Californians away! They use to inflate house prices...may not be the case anymore...
What a great vantage point you found for this shot! Love it! I have been there twice (for conferences...but stayed a few extra days and visited my nephew too.) Love the city..so many great restaurants ;-)
What a grand picture of your beautiful city! I forwarded this to my daughter, Heather as she and her partner are headed there in a few weeks for vacation. This looks like everything there is to love about it!
My first cousin has lived in Seattle since he graduated from Michigan University. He is a conservation engineer for the City of Seattle. He loves it too!
This is so gorgeous! As my mom, Louise mentioned, we're heading there next week. My partner and I are both avid photographers...any suggestions of places we must visit :)
@biggirlart How exciting, I hope it is for pleasure. There is so much to see and do. First you must spend time a the Pike Place Market. Great food, craft and music area. Fun places to eat are at Lowell's right in the market, great for breakfast and wonderful views of the Puget Sound, also Pink Door is fun for dinner Italian food and fun entertainment. The Market is located on 1st and Pike. On the waterfront, you can take a Washington State Ferry across the Sound to Bainbridge Island. You can walk on boat and the round trip is about an hour for $6.90. Great view of the city and mountains from the water. Also on the water front is the Olympic Sculpture Park. Great scultures to photograph and wonderful views of the mountains. Located at 2901 Western Ave.
Lake Union Park is just opening on Sept 25th and should be fun. Great views of the sea planes taking off and Gasworks park across the bay. Easy to get to on the Lake Union Trolly from Downtown to Lake Union. (Slang in Seattle it is called the SLUT!) 860 Terry Ave N. is the address of this park.. Also in that area is the Center for Wooden Boats where you can tour boats and rent row boats to take out on Lake Union. 1010 Valley St. Really fun. Of course the Seattle Center is fun and a trip to the Space Needle is a must.( You can take the monorail from DT) They have really good weekend brunch that includes the trip to the top of the needle. You can also just go to the top for viewing without dining. There is a nice flower conservatory at Volunteer Park on Capital Hill that is fun to go to. If you want evening entertainment and like Jazz, I would recommend Dimitrious Jazz Alley. Nancy Wison is there from Sept 30- Oct 3rd. on 6th Ave. If you need anything more you can always email me at cbrinkley51@aol.com. I could go on and on...I love this city.
A friend of mine said it was one of the best cities in the USA and always wanted to visit since she said that!
my grafitti wall was as found under the train tracks ! nothing added by me I am hoping no artists go and ruin the wall : )
