tulip

This for the B&W Bookclub week 2 http://365project.org/discuss/themes-competitions/20950/bw-book-club-week-2-feb-3-9 - looking at black and white and colour images of scenes that are traditionally shown in b&w -I did warn you that you'd see those tulips again as they continued to die. Colour version - black and white version here http://365project.org/shannejw/365/2014-02-08

Thank you for looking and commenting - you're all superstars and I'm madly catching up with your pictures, again.

A tulip with may lives. I think I like the B&W best.

Tough decision but I think I like it best in color. Nice shot.

They both have special qualities. Unlike the b&w, this one brings the focus on the fading beauty. I think I prefer the b&w.

Lovely!

To me, in this one, there's still beauty. The black and white one was truthful but dismal. I like this one better.

Beautiful! I like the shadow!!

Oh yeah. This one is definitely better in color.

I'm another vote for better in colour.

That's a beautiful take on tulip.

Great vibrant colours and amazing details

definitely lovelier and more dramatic in black and white!

@northy lol - you would say that, wouldn't you? (I like flowers in b&w and usually post them in b&w - possibly because I find flowers somewhat lacking in interest and drama otherwise)

lovely muted colours but I think I prefer the textural qualities of the b&w

Close call - but this one gets my vote... couldn't really spell out why, it's more a gut feeling.

I've got to say I prefer the colour version in this case xx

Hi Shanne. I'm your get pushed partner this week. I've had a browse through your pics and you have a great selection of styles. I wonder if I can challenge you to focus on emotions and expressions this week. Something that will trigger a response in the viewer. ... Does that sound life something you think you'd be able to enjoy doing?

Great shot--- love 'em both but prefer this colored version :)

I definitely like the colour better here. The b/w one is almost like a different creature.
